Emirates Health Services welcomes a selection of Visiting Consultants

Emirates Health Services (EHS) facilities are hosting several specialist doctors representing several medical disciplines throughout September as part of the Visiting Consultants Program. The initiative is aimed at promoting knowledge exchange to advance international efforts and cooperation in healthcare, and to introduce the latest innovations and medical practices for the patients and the community in the UAE.

This is part of several strategic initiatives by EHS that have helped strengthen expertise exchange and knowledge sharing with global healthcare entities, and to attract international doctors to provide the best medical expertise and practices for patients in the UAE. The Visiting Consultants program also spares patients the need to travel overseas for treatments.

H.E. Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of Medical Services at EHS, said the Visiting Consultants Program is an inspiring initiative that enhances the quality of healthcare provided in the UAE. It is an opportunity for doctors and healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge with their counterparts at EHS to enhance their capabilities and skills in a variety of medical disciplines.

Dr. Noor Al Mheiri, Director of the Mental Health Department and Head of the Visiting Consultants Program at EHS, said that the visiting consultants contribute to consultations, surgeries, interactive workshops, and lectures covering various topics. These topics include the latest medical developments, new treatment techniques, and current healthcare challenges. She added that the program helps advance the vision of EHS to achieve the highest levels of healthcare and foster an advanced medical system.

1772 surgeries

Dr. Al Mheiri highlighted the success of the program having welcomed over 456 doctors in 2022 and the first half of 2023. They conducted 9,132 medical consultations and performed 1,772 surgeries in 49 diverse medical specialties at various EHS affiliates.
