Emirates Health Services (EHS) has spearheaded a notable shift in the various services it provides to hospitals and healthcare centres under its umbrella, earning numerous accolades and advanced rankings throughout its history.
Furthermore, EHS is a leader in providing nutrition services in hospital and healthcare centres in accordance with the highest international standards and a trusted global pioneer in providing these services electronically.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Naqbi, Executive Director of Supporting Health Services at EHS, asserted: “Emirates Health Services is constantly working to create new and innovative means to provide its services, in line with the 10 ‘Principles of the 50’. This, in turn, resonates with the UAE’s efforts towards technological and scientific advancement, and helps drive growth in the work environment, attracting more talented and competent individuals.”
“Our priority is to develop the work environment and channel all resources towards developing and upgrading the health services system, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction and happiness,” H.E. added. “We rely on scientific methods to boost the UAE’s competitiveness at the regional and international levels, establish the Emirates as a world leader in innovation, and, ultimately, help ensure the holistic wellbeing of the community.”
For her part, Latifa Mohammed Rashid, Head of the Nutrition Department at EHS, noted: “This success is the result of the UAE leadership’s directives, vision, and unlimited support, as well as its commitment to international best practices to ensure distinguished outcomes that meet the UAE’s advanced global standing and its ambitions across various sectors.”
“The smart nutrition services system was developed through a series of procedures, designed to spearhead a significant transformation in EHS’ smart health services, leveraging a collaboration with a company specialising in the field of information technology and nutrition. This, in turn, raises the efficiency of nutrition departments in hospitals and primary healthcare centres, and promotes customer satisfaction,” Latifa Rashid continued.
The electronic system provides a range of services that include nutritional treatment for patients in hospitals and primary healthcare centres, starting first with a nutritional assessment of different cases, diagnosis, nutritional intervention, and counselling.
Furthermore, it provides for the management of nutrition-based treatment services, where meal requests are collected from patients via tablets, with a waiter present. The orders are then transferred from the tablet to a network of specialised nutrition programmes tailored to specific conditions, and then move on to the hospital kitchen, where they can be converted into reports. Food tray cards are then printed, featuring nutritional facts before the meals are sent to patients.
Thirdly, the system covers food safety in the hospital kitchen by electronically monitoring the stages of processing meal requests, sensors for refrigeration rooms and dry storage, and devices that require temperature measurement. The data is then transferred to the electronic system and form the basis for developing reports for food safety.
