In a groundbreaking achievement across the Middle East, Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, an Emirates Health Services facility, has unveiled the adoption of the cutting-edge "PulseSelect" technology for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Previously available only in the United States and Europe, this innovative technology makes its first appearance in the region, further solidifying Al Qassimi Hospital's status as a regional leader in cardiac care.

The "PulseSelect" technology uses electrical pulses to isolate excess electric impulses around the pulmonary veins in the left atrium, providing an effective and safe treatment for atrial fibrillation. Its adoption by Al Qassimi Hospital is part of Emirates Health Services' efforts to equip its healthcare facilities with modern technologies that ensure the provision of advanced, high-quality healthcare, contributing to the improvement of patients' quality of life, in line with the "We the UAE 2031" vision and the UAE Centennial 2071.

Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, emphasized that this achievement represents a significant leap in healthcare in the region. Dr. Mohamed Magdi, Consultant and Head of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Department at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, emphasized that atrial fibrillation affects millions worldwide. He highlighted that the "PulseSelect" technology represents a significant advancement in the treatment of atrial fibrillation, offering high precision, safety, and effectiveness. Dr. Magdy noted that this innovative approach is expected to enhance treatment outcomes and minimize complications, allowing patients to be discharged from the hospital as soon as one day after the procedure.
