Samia is a pediatric diabetes educator currently working at AQWCH. Started the journey in diabetes education at RCDR back in 2011 with adult patients. Holds Bachelor in Nursing Science from University of Sharjah 2006. Diabetes Education Certificate April 2013 & Post Graduate Diploma in Endocrinology from University of South wales March 2020. Currently AQWCH scope of care is pediatrics. As pediatric diabetes educator, her role is to Format appropriate diabetes education needs for patients and professionals. Provide care in all aspects of diabetes care for in patients and out patients. Support, education of clinical staff and patients, run 1:1 diabetes education and support group diabetes education as well.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate diabetes education delivery. Flexible, multi-skilled and able to work with a diverse range of individuals & groups. Take responsibilities and the challenges of change in the primary health care setting. Contribute to the maintenance and development of equitable seamless diabetes care service within AQWCH
Dr Aqeel Farooque, is a UK trained Pediatric Endocrinologist with over 15 years experience. He completed his pediatric training in the UK and worked as a consultant pediatric endocrinologist at Plymouth, UK and Saudi Arabia before moving to the UAE. He currently practices at Qassimi Women's and Children's Hospital, Sharjah
He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of children with various illnesses that fall under the specialty of endocrinology including type1 Diabetes
